How to read odds — three formats
The same odds can be written in three ways: decimal, fractional and American. vk8 usually uses decimal format, but knowing all three helps you on any platform.
All three express the same value. Decimal 2.25 means a ৳1,000 winning bet returns a total of ৳2,250 (৳1,250 profit + ৳1,000 original stake). If you lose, ৳1,000 is gone.
Decimal 1.80 means Team B is the favourite. A ৳1,000 winning bet returns a total of ৳1,800 (৳800 profit). American −125 means you need to bet ৳125 to win ৳100 profit.
Suppose the odds on three separate matches are 1.50 × 1.60 × 1.80. In a multi bet these multiply together — 1.50 × 1.60 × 1.80 = 4.32 (approximately). So a ৳100 bet returns ৳432 if all selections are correct. But if any single selection is wrong, the entire ৳100 is lost — that is the core risk of a multi bet.
Odds shift with every wicket — live betting
Live in-play betting lets you place bets while the match is in progress. Odds change with every ball, wicket or boundary. For example, if Team A is batting and three wickets fall in the first three balls, Team A's odds to win will lengthen significantly because their chances of winning have dropped.
Some markets are especially popular in cricket live betting: how many runs will be scored in the next over, when the next wicket will fall, and what the innings total will be at the current run rate. New markets open at the end of every over.
In T20, live odds shift notably after the powerplay ends. In the death overs (16–20), if the batting side sends in hard-hitters the odds can shorten rapidly. Timing your bet well matters in this market.
